In Kauehi a security officer told us that we had to pay a tax for The commune de Fakarava, which included the Kauehi.

The tax was 55 XPF per day per person (about NOK 4,50). We paid for a week, but we are the only sailors we have heard of who paid this tax.

This is the receipt for the local tax. It is probably a rare souvenir.

This old tree in Fakarava had made its own abstract sculpture.

The Autonomy day for French Polynesia ended with fireworks. Nothing like that on 14th July.
